The Backdrop CMS core committers and Project Management Committee recently met to discuss priorities for core development. As a community, it’s helpful to pause and take a focused look at where to direct our core development energy over the next 6-12 months.. Here is a draft list of possible priorities that we hope to discuss in detail over the next 5 weeks, at which point we hope to narrow our focus on 2-3 of these items.
Backdrop Live is an online global unconference about Backdrop CMS (and related subjects) over 2 days with sessions suitable for all time zones and all skill levels. From several beginner tutorials covering the basics of Backdrop CMS to advanced topics and future plans, there should be something for you. If there isn't yet, perhaps suggest a topic or even offer to facilitate a discussion.

At a Backdrop User Group meeting on Dec 18, Laryn Kragt Bakker of Aten Design Group shared an early look at an important new project in development: Layout Paragraphs for Backdrop CMS.
The project began as part of a conversation around what layouts could look like for content editors in Backdrop – partially inspired by a Drupal 7 installation profile called Web Express, developed originally at the University of Colorado Boulder and deployed currently in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences at the University of Colorado Denver, which has provided backing for this project.
The Backdrop CMS community is excited to announce Backdrop CMS 1.32.0, the latest stable release in our regular 4-month update cycle. Version 1.32.0 delivers major improvements for site builders and developers alike — including responsive layout options, expanded configuration control, CKEditor 5 updates, and key performance and stability fixes.

The new home page is part of Backdrop's ongoing mission to serve the needs of site owners, designers, and developers — especially in higher education and nonprofit sectors.

At the recent Stanford WebCamp, Laryn Bakker, developer with Aten Design Group, talked about "Layout Paragraphs: Answering the Same Questions, Differently." This session presented innovative approaches for managing complex content layouts within Backdrop CMS, drawing inspiration from Drupal's Layout Paragraphs module.
