Why was Backdrop chosen for this project?
The site existed in Drupal 7 for about 6 years. A migration to Backdrop was chosen, as the site still required a CMS, and the clients did not want to make changes at this time.
Dates were reworked, coming from using core date fields, including date_repeat. In Backdrop, the site relies heavily on the repeating_dates module. Overall, features using dates have improved functionality, smarter visuals, and better usability.
The migration went really well, from the front end, besides some subtle improvements, differences can not be detected.
