This website is more or less a straight conversion from a Drupal 6 site. The project was initiated by the need to move the website from the out of date Drupal 6. The conversion process allowed for some design changes here and there, and the underlying code was, for the first time able to deploy HTML5.
Why was Backdrop chosen for this project?
Backdrop is now my go-to CMS of choice. Once an audit had been completed to ensure that all of the features that worked in the previous site would be workable in Backdrop, it was an easy decision to use Backdrop. The conversion from Drupal 6 to Backdrop was accomplished mainly through the use of the Feeds module, and manual recoding of the theme templates.
