kirchenklänge.de is a event calendar for sacred music in a smaller region of the protestant church in Germany.
Since the advertising for the many concerts doesn’t make it easily to other villages it has been an opportunity to reach more people.
After 7 years of establishing the kirchenklänge.de was relaunched using Backdrop featuring a complete redesign and re-thinking of everything in voluntary unsalaried work.
Why was Backdrop chosen for this project?
- In comparison with all the big CMSs Backdrop offered the easiest way to build the whole site without the need of expensive subscriptions for "premium" functions.
- Backdrop is relatively lightweight while offering a lot of functions. Plus it’s quite fast (enough).
- Some security was a point (try me at "/wp-login"). Luckily there’s no need to update every day a ton of plugins.
