The client was after a simple or minimalist website to draw attention to the dramtic and beautiful Paintings and Drawing done over a number of years. 

 

Why was Backdrop chosen for this project? 

Backdrop was chosen for its ease of use in adding new photos for the client and for editing pages with exhibit details. 

I used the PhotoSwipe module for the gallery pages and pop up display, and although by default the galleries show vertically down the page, using CSS I was able to display them in a grid. The photos are added via an image field on the Page content type, and the client is able to add the caption for each photo via the Alt Tag of the image field, and can then drag and drop the photos in the desired order for the gallery as well.
