The AWV 09, a rich in tradition water sports club of northern Germany, needed a modern and user friendly CMS to replace their former home-made solution. While the website represents the club in public, an equally important task is to inform the members about upcoming sports events and internal activities. The design of the new site was inspired by a popular WordPress theme and was rebuilt as a subtheme of Backdrop's core theme Basis.
Why was Backdrop chosen for this project?
Backdrop CMS was chosen for this site because it allows to build a small but partly complex site rather easily. Backdrop's combination of content types and Views database queries is very flexible, the system is easy to maintain, and it has a nice editorial interface.
