Requirements
- While this module comes with the CleanTalk PHP-antispam classes,
should you need them, they are available at https://github.com/CleanTalk/php-antispam - You will need to sign up with https://cleantalk.org to get your access key for your site.
Installation
- Install this module using the official Backdrop CMS instructions at
https://backdropcms.org/guide/modules - Once the module is enabled, navigate to its config page
and add your CleanTalk access key.

What CleanTalk is
- CleanTalk is a SaaS spam protection service for Web-sites.
- CleanTalk uses protection methods which are invisible for site visitors.
- Using CleanTalk eliminates needs in CAPTCHA, questions and answers, and other
methods of protection, complicating the exchange of information on the site.
How it works
- Messages or registration requests are sent to the CleanTalk cloud, data is
tested with several methods on the cloud, then the site receives a response
decision to approve or deny the message/registration.
CleanTalk Service Testing (once installed)
- Set up a website with CleanTalk. Go to the site's settings link from https://cleantalk.org/my/
- Set "Enable messages filtration using stop-words" checkbox.
- On the right-side of the screen, go to "Personal Lists", and click the 'Add new filter' button.
- From the pull-down, select "Stop word". In the box, type stop_word, then click "Blacklist" button.
- Back on your Backdrop site, in the CleanTalk settings form, enable for the site's contact form.
- Fill out the contact form with "stop_word" in its body. You should see a "Forbidden" message and be unable to send.
