If your'e running Backdrop CMS on Pantheon, there's a custom upstream we maintain that contains more than just Backdrop, it has some Pantheon-specific files added.

The modules, themes, layouts, and other contributed projects created by the larger Backdrop community are all located in the Backdrop contrib group.

Contrib Maintainer applications, port requests, and more

If you have a module, theme, or layout you would like to contribute to the Backdrop community please apply to join the contrib group.Other things you'll find here include:

  • Contributed project maintainer applications
  • Notices about modules or themes that are about to be ported (to avoid duplicated work)
  • Requests from others for specific modules or themes to be ported (including bounties)
  • New ideas to brainstorm collaboratively on solutions
  • Requests to co-maintain existing or abandoned projects

GitHub Groups

As new projects are needed and created for Backdrop, they are likely to appear in one of several groups:

  • Backdrop - This group is for core + core issues only. Nothing new will be created here.
  • Backdrop ops - This group is for the day-to-day operations of Backdrop CMS. Projects here will only be used by those actively contributing to the Backdrop project, the Backdrop community, or the backdropcms.org websites.
  • Backdrop contrib -- This group is for Backdrop add-on projects. Anyone who runs a Backdrop website is encouraged to participate here, for any of the modules, themes, or layouts they are using.
